A striking etching and lithograph by Salvador Dali titled 'Pomme Dragon, Eve's Apple' from his 'FlorDali, Les Fruits' series. It is signed in pencil and numbered XVIII/XXXV and printed by Ateliers Rigal, Paris on Japon paper. Field 54. Modern gilt bronze effect frameDetails
In his series FlorDali, Salvador Dali created fantastical images around fruit which varied from grapefruit and gooseberry to plum and pomegranate. The viewer is drawn into his classically surreal world and invited to interpret the ensuing scene. Here, the alternative title of Eves Apple leads you from a simple botanical image into a Garden of Eden filled with serpents, avarice and temptation and anticipating our eventual expulsion from paradise.
