Fabulous day out in London researching Spanish art and Spanish antiques. Sotheby’s first to view their Old Master Sculpture sale and a great opportunity to view a ‘Lewis’ chessman recently discovered in the collection of an Edinburgh antique dealer and up for sale at a price of £600,000 – £1m. The main body of the Lewis hoard is split between the British museum and the National Museum of Scotland. Then on to The National Gallery to view the new exhibition of the greatest Spanish renaissance artist Bartolome Bermejo with some magnificent works of art; ‘Saint Michael Triumphant over the Devil’ , ‘Despla Pieta’ and ‘Triptych of the Virgin of Montserrat’.
