This is a very rare and highly sought after original vintage Salvador Dali lithographic poster. It was published by Arte, Paris 1980 for the exhibition of his suite, ” The Mythology ” at the Galerie Beaux-Arts and features a superb depiction of the Roman god Neptune (Poseidon). Modern black frame.

Neptune is part of Dali’s Mythology Suite. Sixteen images were made illustrating symbolism of ancient Greek myths. Dali mixed engraving and drypoint etching with hand colouring. To illustrate this, Dali started each piece with “hazard objectif” (interpretated as 'the meaningful manifestations of chance') where Dali began with an abstract smudge and developed each image from that. The Suite of etchings was published from 1963-65 and the gallery produced a special edition lithograph of Neptune for this exhibition poster.
