    Details

Confraternities were small corporate groups based in religious tradition that organised the charitable and devotional life of lay people in towns and rural areas. In a Spanish census of 1771 every rural parish had one and the number of confraternities totalled 25,038. This leaf comes from a Valencian fraternity and is describing the guidelines of the organisation. It is highlighted by multiple hairline pen-strokes, foliate design, whip-like extensions and ,of course, the amazing hare chased by a red-tongued dog.

Condition: Small amount foxing , otherwise excellent.
